Our Emergency Referral and Rescue System provides rapid medical transport for people living on the remote islands of Lake Victoria. Through a dedicated rescue boat, we connect mothers, newborns, children, and other patients with urgent medical care when every second counts.
For families living on the islands of Lake Victoria, reaching a health facility during an emergency is often the greatest challenge. Long distances across the lake, limited transport options, and the high cost of hiring private boats can delay treatment when time is critical.
RAHI exists to bridge that gap. Our emergency referral system provides safe and reliable transport to health facilities for pregnant women in labour, newborns needing urgent care, and other patients facing life threatening medical emergencies. By reducing delays, we help more families receive the care they need when it matters most.
RAHI operates a dedicated emergency rescue boat that responds to urgent referrals from island communities and transports patients to health facilities for immediate treatment. We work closely with community health workers, local leaders, and health centres to ensure emergencies are identified quickly and patients receive timely care.
