Publications | Policy & Advocacy

Rachi Action for Healthcare Initiatives (RAHI) produces evidence-based policy and advocacy publications to amplify the voices of underserved island communities on Lake Victoria and influence equitable health, climate, and development policies.

Our publications draw from field experience, community engagement, program data, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. Through policy briefs, advocacy papers, and research-informed reports, RAHI contributes to national, regional, and global dialogue aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Our Advocacy Focus Areas

RAHI’s policy and advocacy work centers on:

  • Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH)
  • Climate Change & Community Health Resilience
  • Health Access for Remote & Island Communities

Why Policy & Advocacy Matters to Us

Communities living on remote islands face systemic barriers including geographic isolation, weak health infrastructure, climate vulnerability, poverty, and limited access to essential services.

RAHI translates community realities into policy evidence and actionable recommendations to:

  • Inform government and development partners
  • Influence equitable resource allocation
  • Promote community-led solutions
  • Strengthen resilient health and livelihood systems
